Welcome to our home in the wonderful neighborhood of Schnitzelburg! This charming updated 2 bedroom, 2 bath home is just minutes from Downtown, U of L, the Highlands, and the Airport.

Walk or bike to numerous restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. Relax on the porch or stroll Emerson Park gardens and soak in the community vibe of this historic town.

• Flex Room: The second bedroom features a surprise Queen Murphy bed that folds away to transform the space into a yoga retreat or workspace. 🧘‍♀️
• Kitchen: Fully equipped with gadgets and a Nespresso machine for your indulgence. ☕

One of the best features is the location just in front of Emerson Park and the Community Garden. It is a sustainable, walkable neighborhood with a true sense of community.

Important Booking Details
To ensure a smooth and safe stay, please complete these three quick steps before arrival:
1. Security Deposit: A standard deposit is required. It is fully refunded after your stay.
2. Rental Agreement: A simple agreement must be signed.
3. ID Verification: A photo of a valid government issued ID is needed.

"Our home features the original hardwood flooring, transom windows, raised ceilings/doorways with most of the original trim-work. Weu2019ve added on the master spa bathroom featuring heated floors and towel rack and large modern glass enclosed shower. All super high end.

The master bedroom is spacious with plenty of drawer and closet space to make yourself at home. Luxury linens and comfy bedding too.

And in the second bedroom - a surprise queen Murphy bed that folds away to transform the space into a yoga retreat or bonus work space as needed.

An added bonus for guests is in the kitchen - we have lots of gadgets and several coffee/tea making devices to suit your preference. We even provide a Nespresso for you so feel free to indulge.

One of the best features is the location just in front of Emerson Park (and Community Garden). This was the site of a former school house transformed into a community space. We have since given up our plot in the garden but feel free to wander about or sit and enjoy the green space. Many of our neighbors have plots there and it truly brings to life the meaning of community gardening.

The style of home is a traditional Shotgun house. Shotguns are simply long rectangular dwellings, one room wide and generally one story. It is believed that they were first built in the U.S. in Louisiana by free Haitians. It is thought that the Shotgun house was brought to Louisville by French fur traders. Louisville has the largest collection of Shotgun houses in the entire country. Most of Louisvilleu2019s Shotguns are over 100 years old, having mostly been built between 1890 and 1915."
